As the BMR HOA president, I cannot adequately express my satisfaction as to the efforts, professionalism, and positive outcome of Root's effort in BMR for this year's slash event. I could not find a recent slash event that removed so many cubic yards...much less in eight business days. All facets of communications, coordination, and execution with Root was more than I could ask for. I concur with Molly's recommendation as inclusion as a preferred vendor. In this thread the entire BMR HOA Board and Metro District are copied. I encourage anyone on this thread to toss in their comments.

I am writing as a Bell Mountain Ranch Metro District Director to provide an exceptionally positive review of Root Tree Service and their performance during our community’s recent fire mitigation slash removal event.

Our residents and volunteers completed a tremendous amount of mitigation work, resulting in a much larger volume of slash than may have originally been anticipated, including numerous densely packed piles along our roadways.

As Root progressed through the community, they quickly recognized that the volume could put the original completion timeline at risk. What impressed us most was how Root responded. Rather than rush the work or compromise the quality of cleanup, they adapted. Working with our Firewise Chairperson, Bob Kelley, and the Metro District, Root brought in a semi-truck and empty trailer and strategically staged it near our community park. This allowed their crews to consolidate and remove slash much more efficiently while maintaining the quality of their work. It was an excellent example of identifying a challenge and finding a smarter solution.

The equipment Root used also made a significant difference. It was well suited for our community and roadsides, allowing them to remove substantial amounts of material without causing damage. This was particularly important to us and a noticeable improvement over our previous experiences.

Throughout the project, Root’s crew was professional, organized, courteous, fast, and exceptionally hardworking (Special shout out to Cam, driver/operator). Their attention to cleanup was outstanding. In many locations, they left little to no indication that large, densely packed slash piles had ever been there. Root removed 26, 55 cu yd truck loads in only 8 business days, exceeding expectations.

Having gone through this process with two previous contractors, I can confidently say Root provided a significantly better experience. Their equipment, efficiency, professionalism, adaptability, and attention to detail set them apart.

I have no complaints with Root’s performance and strongly recommend that Douglas County consider them for future slash removal and fire mitigation projects. Programs like this are extremely important to communities actively working to reduce wildfire risk, and the contractor completing the final removal plays an important role in their success.

Root did an exceptional job for Bell Mountain Ranch. We greatly appreciate their hard work and sincerely hope to work with them again in the future.
